Should a person that has had a tainted life, a bad childhood,?

Sounds like you could be writing about me. As with anyone, the more time that goes by where she is able to prove herself and people see and come to know her as a good, reliable, stable person...they tend to forget about the rest in time. This person even gets more respect and admiration for overcoming these things. People know that there are people that also are able to change for short periods of time but they end up going back and being the "old them". The person really has to ignore other peoples apprehension and don't try too hard to prove them wrong because it could come across as fake and work against her. If she has truly changed, her behavior will be seen as constant and stable and that will melt any apprehension away. A "tainted" persons hardest thing to get back is self worth. They need to give themselves a break and be proud of the things the have overcome and where they are today. The best thing she can do is carry on with her life with well adjusted people who care about her. She is worth it and will be rewarded with happiness.
