Should i ask her for it anyway?

ok i've known this girl for about 2 weeks now,and we talk.She usually hangs out with one friend and i talk to them make them laugh etc..the girl figure out that i like her and from day one i wanted to ask for he Number but fail for two weeks and the thing is when she's around her friend i feel more confident but when she's alone i feel nervous to ask for her number and usually hug her and end the conversation.It been 2 weeks now should i Still ask for her number?like i want it bad.and any advice to ask for her number without felling scared or nervous?
