Screwed up connection with Xbox 360 wireless adaptor?

i bought a wireless adaptor, when its connected with my signal, the signal is strong. But sometimes it just randomly disconnects. and i have to wait until the signal reappears. my 360 is in the corner of my room(2nd floor) , and my wireless router is on the 3rd floor.Please i need tips!! i hate when i dc in a middle of a match , especially when i'm winning >_>
